Grand Prix 2013

17th March 2013 - Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park.

In true Melbourne style, the weather was 'changeable'!  The day before they did not get to complete qualifying sessions 2 and 3 because of the rain, so we got to see them on the Sunday.  It was still wet, but only drizzly not pouring.  By the afternoon we were eating ice-creams!

Just before the main race started we got ourselves a good spot to watch it from.

A very long race!

I took many photos trying to get one of Darren with a car in the background!

Great day as always!

Langkawi 2013

So from Kuala Lumpur it was on to Langkawi!

We stayed at the hotel Danna - a 5 star luxury resort where we were truly spoilt!  On arrival they took our passports and we had a complimentary drink and massage while they checked us in.  We then had a personal tour of the hotel, ending up in our amazing room where the windows were all open with a breeze blowing through and lounge music playing on the stereo.

View from the bathtub!

One night Damo had his stag do and the girls got together for drinks at the hotel where the wedding would be.  It was lovely to meet the girls before the wedding.

I don't have any photos to share from the stag do - I think the boys are keeping that night quiet!

The wedding was beautiful!  It was held on the beach just before sunset - very romantic.....

After the wedding the reception was on the beach, with fire throwing/eating as the entertainment!

Paul was a volunteer to eat fire!
After the fire people, the reception moved inside for a 'disco'

The boys doing the 'birdy' dance!

Great night!

After the wedding we had a few quiet days in the sun, and a few lovely nights out in Perdana Quay and  Pantai Cenang.

It was a great trip, and lovely to be able to celebrate Di and Damo's day with them and their family.
